Booking a workshop: check the session, materials and experience level

Choose a workshop that fits your experience, confirm what is included and prepare for the correct session.

Match the workshop to your starting point

Read the session description for prerequisites, intended audience and learning activities. A beginner workshop and a professional masterclass can cover the same topic at very different levels. Ask the organizer about any required prior experience before you book.

Check the instructor information and format. A demonstration, a hands-on class and an interactive discussion offer different experiences. Do not assume a short workshop includes a qualification, certification or continuing support unless the event description states it clearly.

Check what the ticket includes

Confirm whether materials, equipment or software access are supplied or need to be brought by the attendee. For a practical class, ask about any required clothing, device or preparation. Review the ticket quantity and whether one ticket covers an individual, a pair or a group.

If the workshop has several dates or sessions, confirm the exact one selected at checkout. A listing can describe a series while an individual ticket covers only one session. Check the duration, breaks, venue or online format and any age requirements.

Prepare for the day

Save your booking and read any joining instructions. For an online class, confirm when the access instructions will be provided and check the stated time zone. Keep private joining links out of public posts. For an in-person workshop, check the entrance and arrival time.

Read the event’s change and cancellation terms before payment. If a required detail is missing, contact the organizer rather than making an assumption. Once booked, keep your questions and order reference together so the team can identify the correct session.
