How to keep your QR event ticket safe and ready for entry

Protect your ticket code, prepare your phone and know what to do when a scanner reports an entry problem.

Treat the QR code as a private credential

Your ticket code is used to identify the ticket at entry. Keep it out of public posts, stories and group screenshots. If you want to share that you are attending, share the public event link instead of your ticket image.

When a transfer option is available for your booking, follow the official transfer flow. Sending a screenshot does not necessarily change the recorded ticket holder. Check the event’s transfer conditions and confirm the recipient can access the ticket before relying on it.

Prepare before you reach the queue

Open the correct ticket while you still have a reliable connection. Charge your phone, make the QR code clearly visible and check the event date or session. Follow the organizer’s instructions about downloaded or printed tickets; do not assume every event accepts the same format.

Avoid folding a printed code through its centre or covering part of the code on your phone. At the gate, show the full code at a comfortable brightness and wait for the staff member’s result before moving on. A successfully read QR code still needs a valid entry decision.

Handle an entry problem calmly

If a scanner reports that a ticket was already used, belongs to another event or is invalid, ask gate staff to check the event, session and booking reference. Repeated scanning or a louder screenshot does not resolve an underlying ticket-state problem.

Keep your confirmation and any official transfer message available for the support desk. Staff may need to verify the booking before making an admission decision. Do not share someone else’s ticket code as a workaround.
